One Team One Goal Celebrating Diversity Competition Opens
Students across Victoria are being challenged to put their creative hats on for the 2015 One Team One Goal: Celebrating Diversity competition.
Minister for Education, James Merlino, today officially launched the competition alongside AFL Victoria CEO Steve Reaper at North Melbourne Primary School.
The competition asks primary and secondary school students to create a video, visual or radio commercial that demonstrates their understanding of the importance of diversity and promotes the message that cultural diversity is recognised and celebrated in their community.
Australia Post AFL Multicultural Ambassadors Paul Puopolo (Hawthorn FC) and Patrick Karnezis (Collingwood FC) were on hand to launch the competition and encourage students to enter.
Mr Merlino said that the competition provided students with a great opportunity to combine their creativity with their love of football to produce a positive cultural message.
Prizes include a $2500 schools grant, special edition footballs and tickets to AFL games during the multicultural football round.
