Labor’s Interface Growth Fund To Keep Casey On Track
Residents in Casey are set to benefit from the Andrews Labor Government’s new $50 million Interface Growth Fund, which will support councils and communities in Melbourne’s fastest growing suburbs.
Minister for Local Government, Natalie Hutchins, today visited the City of Casey with Member for Narre Warren South, Judith Graley, to discuss how the fund could be used to improve community facilities and infrastructure.
Ms Hutchins said the fund could be used to help build a wide range of projects including multipurpose facilities, community centres and playgrounds.
The Interface Growth Fund – the first of its kind – is to support the communities in the ten Interface Councils, which will host the highest proportion of Victoria’s population growth over the coming decades.
The 10 Interface Councils are: Cardinia Shire Council, City of Casey, Hume City Council, Melton City Council, Mitchell Shire Council, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, Nillumbik Shire Council, City of Whittlesea, Wyndham City Council and Yarra Ranges Council.
Applications for the fund will open on July 1.
