The Prime Minister for Sydney, Malcolm Turnbull, has failed to deliver a single dollar from a $20 million jobs and investment package promised to Geelong in 2016.

The so called “Regional Jobs and Investment Packages” were announced on the eve of the 2016 Federal Election in a desperate bid to save Malcolm Turnbull’s do nothing local MP Sarah Henderson.

Former Nationals Senator Fiona Nash and Sarah Henderson re-announced the packages in January 2017 but twelve months on the Turnbull Government is yet to say where the money will go.

Despite saying at the time this was “a great opportunity for the Geelong and Corangamite regions to drive job creation and new investment…”, Ms Henderson hasn’t allowed one single dollar to flow into the community.

While the Liberals only talk about “jobs and growth”, the Andrews Labor Government is delivering, boosting jobs and manufacturing across the state including in Geelong.

Right across the Geelong region, the Labor Government is investing in creating jobs and investing in what matters, including:

• Establishing LiveTiles, the global innovation centre in Geelong creating 500 jobs
• Investing in the Avalon Airport Precinct, which will be home to 750 new jobs and the Cotton On Group’s purpose built distribution centre
• Boosting jobs and local creative industries through the $38.5 million redevelopment of the Geelong Performing Arts Centre

In addition, the Labor Government has invested $26.4 million to support businesses in the Geelong region and our assistance has helped create over 400 jobs and generated more than $170 million in capital expenditure.
