New Maggolee Website For Councils And Communities Launched
Minister for Local Government and Aboriginal Affairs Natalie Hutchins has today launched the new Maggolee website, a resource for local councils to work more closely with Aboriginal communities.
Developed by Reconciliation Victoria and with funding from Victorian Government, the website provides information on how each council engages with the Aboriginal community, as well as information on local Traditional Owners and Aboriginal organisations, key contacts, demographic data, and services.
The website also includes case studies on how councils can better partner with Aboriginal communities on service delivery, the arts, reconciliation, land use, planning and cultural heritage, and support Aboriginal employment and economic participation.
Maggolee is a joint project between Reconciliation Victoria, the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), the Office of Aboriginal Affairs Victoria and Local Government Victoria (LGV) and is part of the Andrews Labor Government’s efforts to work alongside Aboriginal Victorians in building respect and recognition.
